Ryan's Classes Friday Sept. 21, 2012

Bible Survey

Unit 1 Exam today.

History 30

Remember: "Little History of Canada" Pages 23-30 Qs are due today.

Today we discussed the handout: "France's Transition from Exploration to Settlement" (see handout below).  Champlain was the father of New France and is one of the 'major C's' of Canadian exploration history:

1) Columbus (1492)
2) Cabot (1497)
3) Cartier (1524)
4) Champlain (1604)

Champlain is significant because he personified the French focus on Canada as a colony as opposed to a land mass to simply get through on the way to the orient or to exploit and leave.  As Taylor Swift says 'You Belong to Me'.  This was the song Canada and France sang to one another in the early 1600s.
