Current Affairs News Article: "Petronas rejections proves need to abolish 'net benefit' test"
Students read the story in groups and discussed its meaning in terms of Canada's historic dependence as an exporting/importing economy. We read the curriculum guide and applied this story to some other historic themes in Canadian history and to Foundational Objectives 2&3. If you were absent you need to do this on your own to get marks for this.

Today was a work period for your "Threats to British Rule" assignments. Tomorrow will also be a work period, but Friday we will have a guest lecturer, Ric Driediger, speaking about the HBCo. The handouts and presentations are due on Monday.

We are finished Unit 1: World Religions. Today we started Unit 2: Expressions of the Christian Faith. We began a book study of Shane Claiborne's "The Irresistible Revolution". This will take the next 10 classes or so. Today we read the Introduction, The Foreword, and the Author's Note. Please complete the questions sheet for next day.

Today I handed out a new reading booklet titled "Consequences of Conquest". Come and see me if you need one. This reading will cover the era following the 1763 Treaty of Paris that ended the Seven Year's War. I have attached a worksheet below that needs to be completed for tomorrow. Happy reading!

Today we continued with our 'World Religion' presentations. We started with Laura who did a great job outlining Islam for us. This was followed by Cody's presentation on Humanism, and Matt 'the toga' Remenda finished up with an overview of Greek Mythology. Great work people! Here is the list for next class

Today we began our World Religions presentations. Nicole led with Sikhism followed by Phoenix sharing about a branch of Shintoism. It was interesting that both of these religions has a significant presence in Canada. We will continue with presentations on Tues. in the following order:

Today was a bit of a catch up day. Girls' soccer and the Football team were gone for games. We reviewed for the exam on Friday and watched "The Battle of the Plains of Abraham" on the big screen.
